August: Charity Sew Day

Members churned out charity items galore at this month's Charity Sew Day. 

The day ended with 52 scarves for the homeless and over 25 each of the portfolios and cinch sacks for the women's shelter. Great job, everyone!

Business:
~ The Guild needs a new Program Chair/s!!  Please see Pat, Lois or an Officer if you're interested. Your Guild needs YOU!

~Elections are coming in November. Elected Offices are: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Those interested in running should contact Amanda M.


Coming in SEPTEMBER:
Our own Angelia Armstrong will lead our Dye-It workshop. Members will learn how to dye their own fabric! This will be a combined Meeting & Sew-In to give Members plenty of time to play. Stay tuned for the supply list and prep instructions.   
~ Our swap for September is 3 Coordinating Fat Quarters. 
Challenge Quilt: Your sixth (and final) border should include slab piecing and  this color.  This is your final challenge!  Challenge Quilts are to be completed (quilted and bound) for the reveal at December's meeting. Questions? Contact Gwen or Iris

July: Quilting Without Marking

Members worked on their quilting skills in the Quilting Without Marking workshop presented by the talented Debbie Moore.

Coming in AUGUST:
August's meeting is a Charity Sew Day. Please bring your machines, sewing supplies and supplies for your charity projects. We will be finishing the Portfolios and Cinch Sacks for the women's shelter. Each member is asked to please make one of each. We will also be making scarves for the homeless, to be distributed by the church.
Please check the links and bring the appropriate fabrics.

Challenge Quilt: Your fifth border should include wonky piecing and  this color.  The last challenge will be given at August's meeting!  Challenge quilts are to be completed (quilted and bound) for December's meeting.

Quilting without Marking with the lovely Debbie Moore. 
Debbie will be teaching this fast and fun technique for getting your quilts finished. 
Supply lists have been emailed to Members. 
NOTE: Due to space limitations, Guests are welcome for the general meeting portion of the meeting. The program portion is limited to paid Members due to space limitations. 

~ July's swap is a quilted tote*.   (*Loosely defined by our Swap Master as "a functional shape made of fabric that may or may not close with a zipper, may or may not have handles, may or may not have a pocket, and may or may not be larger than a breadbox.")  Please WRAP your swap item.  


Membership renewal is due no later than July's meeting. Please fill out the membership form and bring it to the meeting. If for some reason you can't attend, please contact Heide or Joy.

May: All About Bags

May's meeting was all about bags! Members brought some of their favorite creations to share with the guild. Lots of ideas were exchanged.

April: Hexie Fever

The lovely Cindy French joined us to teach English Paper Piecing. Cindy passed out kits and members got to work trying their hand at this fun technique. We have hexie fever!

March: Fun & Games

March came in like a lion, and PMQG members shrugged it off with a little strip poker fun! We also swapped place mats, Yankee style.
